VAST increases application of scientific research results

In realization of the guideline on applying the results of scientific research into production and business, over the past year, many scientific and technological projects conducted by units of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) have been applied in reality and promoted its efficiency. In particular, 3 scientific and technological projects in pharmaceutical chemistry and biological technology have been applied in life, contributing to boosting the development of Vietnamese businesses.

VAST in Techmart Hanoi 2016

The 2016 Technology and Equipment Fair (Techmart) was co-organised in 4 days, from September 28 to October 1, 2016 at the Museum of Hanoi by the Ministry of Science and Technology, together with the Hanoi People’s Committee, aiming to increase the establishment and development of the technological market; enhance links between research and production – trade; promote trade of scientific and technological products; support technological innovation; increase competitiveness, labour productivity and the quality of commodities and services; honour the creativity of those who work in science and technology; and increase research and technological transfer and cooperation with foreign countries.

Increasing cooperation with Japanese and Russian Federation partners

From September 12-18, 2016, Prof. Chau Van Minh, Party Central Committee member and President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), led a working delegation from VAST and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to work with partners in Japan and the Russian Federation.

Over the past years, VAST has conducted diverse cooperation programs in research, application and training with Japanese partners such as the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the University of Osaka and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS); and cooperated to carry out the Vietnam Space Centre at the Hoa Lac hi-tech zone with official development assistance (ODA) funding from the Japanese Government.

VAST presents insignia to Prof. Yasuaki Maeda

On September 7, 2016, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) held a ceremony to present the academy’s insignia to Prof. Yasuaki Maeda from the University of Osaka for his contribution to Vietnam’s education and training, and for the development of scientific and technological research at VAST.
