Austriella corrugata is a relatively large bivalve mollusc species, living in the low tide mangrove forest with mostly muddy and sandy bottom. Austriella corrugata is delicious and rich in nutrients; brings very high economic value; is popular and is a specialty of coastal areas of Quang Ninh. At present, the supply of Austriella corrugata at the market is from natural exploitation. As there is increasingly high demand for Austriella corrugate, natural Austriella corrugata is exploited more and more, resulting in increasingly exhausted and severely declining resources. Therefore, it is necessary to study and master the biological and reproductive characteristics and living conditions of the species, in order to provide the scientific basis for the protection and development of resources and the production of the breeding, gradually changing from natural exploitation into production, raising incomes for coastal fishermen, and at the same time diversifying valuable livestock breeds and preserving biodiversity.
