Discovery of new strain of carp in Cyprinus Carpio species based on molecular genetic analysis data

In the framework of the task of bilateral international cooperation between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the Fund for Basic Research of the Russian Federation, code QTRU01.07/19-20 by Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Van Quan, the Institute of Marine Resources and Environment, with Russian partner, led by Dr. Sergey Rastorguev, head of the Kurchatov Institute (Moscow), has discovered a new strain of carp in the Cyprinus carpio species  from molecular genetic data analysis. The result of this study was published in the Specialized Journal, ranked Q1 Ecology and Evolution, on April 27, 2020.

Application of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing to build software system supporting lung cancer diagnosis

Lung cancer is the result of the abnormal division and growth of airway epithelial cells, mainly in the epithelium of the bronchi. The process of dividing cells quickly goes out of control and creates tumors. Lung cancer interferes with lung function, spreading cancer cells in the adjoining, lymphatic or bloodstream to nearby lymph nodes or to other parts of the body.

Institute of Biotechnology and HCMC Pasteur City Institute succeed in whole-genome sequencing and de novo assembly of SARS-CoV-2 virus on a new generation PacBio SEQUEL

The COVID-19 pandemic, an acute respiratory infection caused by a new strain of coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), has killed hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. To minimize the harmful effects of this disease, scientists have conducted many studies, such as creating a test kit to detect viruses in patient samples, research on vaccine production and preventive and treatment drugs, sequence the entire genome of viruses from strains spreading in many countries around the world and identify their variants.
